Applications |
The CPC allows to define in situ the value of current density needed in order to protect an immersed metallic structure, and thus to define the size and quantity of the sacrificial anodes or the current power supply of the cathodic protection system. This current density is linked to the environmental parameters (dissolved oxygen, marine current, temperature) which influence the electrochemical reactions on the surface of the structures to be protected. The CPC comprises one zinc reference electrode, one sacrificial anode and one cathode (the metal to be protected). The CPC allows the measurement and recording of the difference of potential between the reference electrode and the cathode, as well as the current that circulates between the anode and this same cathode. Its main specificity comes from the fact that the body of the CPC housing is made with the tested alloy, where the measurement system and the batteries are housed. The CPC is thus compact and without external

Specifications |
MEASUREMENT CHARACTERISTICS One voltage channel for the measurement of the corrosion potential of the structure (in relation to a Zinc reference anode) Measurement range : ± 1V Resolution : < 1mV Accuracy (linearity, hysteresis, repeatability) : <10mV Input impedance of measurement stage : > 10E11Ohms
One channel for the measurement of the current of cathodic protection Measurement shunt : 1Ohm Measurement range : from 30µA to 10mA Resolution : <3.5µA Accuracy (linearity, hysteresis, repeatability) : <50µA
ELECTRONIC CHARACTERISTICS Sampling rate programmable from 0.01s to 99hrs Memory capacity : 32kb with data compression (64kb optional) Communication interface : inductive transmission, via a Data Pencil connected to a computer. Energy : 3 Lithium batteries, 1 to 5 years autonomy depending on sampling rate
MECHANICAL CHARACTERISTICS Maximum depth : 30m Operating temperature : 0 to +30°C Dimensions : Length 90mm, Diameter 100mm
|
Applications |
The SPC allows to monitor port and offshore structures under cathodic protection. In order to do this, it records the corrosion potential and the current density received by a coupon (unit of elementary area). The coupon is electrically connected to the structure via the SPC, and is thus a representation of its level of cathodic protection.

Applications |
The SPC4 sensor allows the measurement of the protection current of a structure under cathodic protection.
The principle of measurement of the SPC4 sensor is based on the use of a steel coupon of the same nature as that of the structure.
This coupon is attached to the surface of the structure and masks a known surface of the latter. It is electrically connected via the SPC4 sensor. This allows the protection current to be "captured" and measured, and thus to evaluate its density.
The SPC4 sensor is equipped with 8 measuring channels (4 for current, 4 for voltage) and therefore allows four coupons to be connected.

EPC8 - 8-channel corrosion potential data logger
|
 |
|
Specifications |
MEASUREMENT
8 voltage channels to measure the corrosion potential in relation to the reference electrode:
Measuring range: +/-1.9VDC Resolution: lower than 1mV Accuracy: <0.2% of the dynamic measurement, i.e. 8mVDC. Includes: hysteresis, linearity, repeatability and drift in the 0-30°C operating temperature range. Voltage of the reference electrode: 1.98VCC
The parameter setting and reading of the EPC8 data logger are performed without opening the housing, using the WinMemo software and the Data Pencil. The latter is connected to the serial link of a PC computer at one end, and placed against the centre of the induction read zone (marked) at the other so as to establish the connection with the EPC8.
|
Applications |
It allows the potential difference to be measured between a coupon and a reference electrode. It comprises 8 independent measuring channels. The EPC8 is autonomous and designed to be installed in a humid marine environment.
